THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED
The day's workshop will focus on using PCs running the Windows 2000 operating system. Participants will learn their way around the computer, including basics such as mouse and keyboard hardware and the common features of program windows. More advanced topics such as file organization and desktop customization will also be covered. At the end of the day, we will talk about common sources of Windows frustration (the disappearing toolbar, the frozen PC), offer useful tips, and reserve some time for questions and answers before concluding.

Course Content

  • Computer hardware: The Basics
  • Features of Windows, plus how to do common tasks in a Windows environment
  • Saving, printing, organizing and deleting files
  • Customizing the appearance and behavior of Windows
  • Windows tips and tricks, troubleshooting common problems
Audience: Library staff members who have not previously had extensive experience on a Windows-based PC.
