 CCPL meetings open to CAMLS members  

 Purpose: The purpose of the Children's Services Committee to provide a formal structure through which CAMLS area children's librarians can act to
enhance the quality of library service to children in the CAMLS area by:

  • providing continuing education opportunities;
  • sharing information and ideas;
  • increasing visibility of library service to children;
  • improving collection development and maintenance;
  • promoting children's literature and literacy.

Approved by the CAMLS Board of Trustees March 7, 1983.

CuyahogaCounty Public Library's Children Services Department Meetings 2001

CCPL's Children Services department has generously invited CAMLS committee members to attend any of CCPL's Children's programs in 2001

Thursday, February 15, 2001. Staff will be presented with Alternative School Age Programs for children in grades 4-6. This program will be open to any interested individuals from public or school libraries.

Friday, March 23, 2001. A Storytelling workshop will be lead by a well-known storyteller. Registration will be limited. It will not open until March 2001. The evening of March 23rd we will hold a storytelling concert which will be open to the public.

Wednesday, September 6, 2001. A workshop on Book Talking and Readers Advisory Service will be held. We expect to have a well-known presenter leading this program.

Friday, November 16th. The annual Celebrating Books 2001 will be held and will feature poetry as its theme.
