This interactive workshop will provide an introduction to the Public Library Associationís strategic planning model, New Planning for Results. The fundamental premises of this innovative model will be introduced including the basic assumptions and steps involved in the process, the concept of community based planning and the development of a community vision. The role of a facilitator in the process, the libraryís selection of service responses, the creation of goals and objectives, and the reallocation of resources to meet the stated goals and objectives will also be thoroughly examined.
