AM Session 1
Sharpening Your Organizational Skills

This workshop will address ergonomics and space issues, and will also encourage you to uncover your own organizational personality. As a bonus, participants will learn how to take their newfound skills into other environments.

AM Session 2
Work – In the Way of Life or a Way of Life?

Job satisfaction is critical not only to you the employee but to your employer as well. If you are content with your job, your performance in the workplace is more positive. Marty Jaffe will guide you through a vocational interest survey and discuss how to balance the many roles and responsibilities in your life right now, as well as where you want to be in the future. Reground yourself and take time to assess your skills and the contribution you are making to your library.
Martin Jaffe began his career as a librarian and now manages the famed InfoPLACE, Cuyahoga County Public Library’s career center.
PM Session 1
Staying Positive

Your job satisfaction is as unique as your fingerprint and for most people nearly as unexamined and unfamiliar. Take time to reflect on your personal priorities for job satisfaction and assess the degree to which your current work fulfills your needs. You will be inspired with practical strategies that will help you both at home and work. Discover ways to manage your time, reduce stress, and respect good nutrition. Don't fall into a negativity trap - leave this workshop focused and eager to face each day.
Patty Pritts is the Manager of On-Site Services for a health management consulting company called WellCorp. Patty has always had a grass roots approach to adult learning strategies and received a Master's of Education from Cleveland State. She loves to share her insights and continues to encourage everyone she meets in the quest for lifelong learning.
PM – Session 2
Dealing With Change

Outsourcing and downsizing are two words used more often these days as libraries cope with decreased budgets. Library employees must also deal with upgrading automation systems, hiring freezes, and reorganizing staff. These possibilities leave library staff filled with fear and uncertainty about the future. The common denominator in all of these is change. Linda Bruno will help participants understand change, why it is so difficult, and why we resist it. Learn how to cope with change and eliminate stress.
