AM Session 1
Time Management

Are you always busy yet never have enough time to get things done? In today’s workplace we are all faced with ever increasing demands and workloads. Our emphasis should be on getting the right things done and being effective – not merely busy. Get practical techniques for getting things done by focusing on the principles of effective time use. The adage “work smarter, not harder” is one that will work for you once you have mastered the key principles of successful time managers.

AM Session 2
Making the Connection: Communicating with and Caring for an Aging Population.

Somewhere in our lives - in the workplace or at home – all of us interact with members of the senior population. Some of those encounters are difficult at best and we are at a loss for what to say or what to do. This workshop will shed light on why it is difficult to communicate with older adults, especially with memory, speech, or hearing impairments. Discover some of the myths about aging, learn about resources to help seniors, and find out how caregivers manage their emotions when dealing with older adults.
Margaret Chesler is currently employed by Menorah Park Center for the Aging, providing clinical referral and evaluation.. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Services from John Carroll University. Her past work experiences have included University Settlement, Marymount Mental Health Center, and the Center for Families and Children. Ms. Chesler’s main area of focus is the senior population. She has also presented for McDonald and Company Securities, PPG Industries, and Worklife Companies.
PM Session 1
Coping with Workplace Change

At a personal level, change is intensifying dramatically for us all. We face an unsettling amount of individual workplace change, as evidenced by the increased frequency of changes in the workplace such as ever-advancing technologies, new policies and procedures, reorganizations, and constantly shifting duties and reporting responsibilities. This workshop will offer ideas and techniques to deal with change in your work and in your life. It will focus on effective ways to deal with change so that you can enjoy less stress and more success--however you define it--in all aspects of your life.

PM – Session 2
Workplace Rights and Responsibilities

Although we spend half of our waking hours in the workplace and on the job, we do not completely understand our rights and our responsibilities. This workshop will define and help you understand how to deal with harassment issues, wage and hour laws, job performance issues, and achieving success on the job. You will gain an important (and maybe new) perspective on workplace rights and workplace wrongs.
