It is the purpose of the Young Adult Services Committee to provide a formal structure through which CAMLS persons serving young adults can help enhance the quality of library service to young adults in the CAMLS area by:

• developing cooperative programs and services;

• providing continuing education opportunities for staff;.

• increasing visibility of Young Adult library services in the community;

• promoting young adult literature and literacy;

• improving collection development and maintenance by sharing information and ideas on effective materials selection;

• heightening awareness in the library community of the need for sustained excellent service to young adults.
