Principal Duties: Plans, directs, assigns, implements and evaluates media services, collection and activities. Designs, develops and delivers programs for selected age group patrons. Prepares and presents programs including contacting presenters, purchasing supplies, providing publicity as needed, setting up for program, presentation and evaluation. Coordinates and conducts media programs off-site. Works regularly assigned hours in Media Services, Adult Services and Reference. Schedules, trains, supervises and evaluates staff in conformance with established library policy. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of services. Participates in establishing media services policies with responsibility for interpreting those policies at the patron service level. Develops new procedures as necessary; prepares special reports; interprets and implements administrative directives. Prepares work schedules and checks time sheets for all department staff. Resolves patron questions that are unresolved at other staff levels. Instructs patrons in the use of library facilities and services; answers requests for specific information, conducts tours for visitors.

Requirements:
Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school of library science. Minimum of four years increasingly responsible library experience. Minimum of one-year work experience in providing or supervising a media services collection. Prefer two to four years of experience delivering programs to adults within a library setting. Prefer coursework or work experience in art, music or film.
