| Principal Duties: | The Head of Adult Services is a leadership position responsible for the management of adult/young adult information services and collection development. The department head will lead a staff of 11 (4 full-time, 7 part-time); monitor the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the department's service; supervise, develop, and evaluate staff; integrate new technology into the department to improve service and increase productivity; and serve as a member of the administrative team. The Head of Adult Services reports to the Library Director and is exempt from the collective bargaining unit. |
| Qualifications/ Requirements: |
ALA/MLS; 3-5 years of professional experience in adult services; commitment to professionalism and excellence; sound professional judgement; experience in collection development; superior knowledge of information service; skillful use of technology and the ability to teach staff and patrons; ability to maintain a positive and effective working relationship with co-workers, patrons, and others; superior communiction skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a union environment; collaborative management style. |
