Principal Duties:	The library's administration seeks an individual with excellent managerial skills to direct a Children's support staff of eight highly creative and dynamic individuals. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the children's literature and public library fields; knowledge of childhood development and pre-school education; better-than-average computer skills; the ability to work with a diverse group of people, both colleagues and patrons; excellent public presentation skills and written skills; basic knowledge of budgeting; and the ability to see the "big picture" and partner with other departments in the library, in particular, DiscoveryWorks, a hands-on science center for children and their adults.
Qualifications/ Requirements:	MLIS or MLS degree from an ALA-accredited library science program; a seasoned level of library experience working with children (and their adults); and a good sense of humor.
