Title: Acquisitions Assistant

Hours: 24 hours per week
Salary: $10.00 per hour
Principal Duties: Performs all tasks and services involved with acquisitions and gifts and exchanges in the Library by performing the following duties: Unpacks and receives purchased materials; processes purchased items to be returned to vendors; files correspondence and publisher catalogs; researches items to be claimed and processes claims; researches and processes status reports from vendors; unpacks, receives, assigns monetary values as needed and records materials received as gifts or on exchange in database; creates or edits records in library online system for materials received as gifts or on exchange; generates, prints and edits annual report information and acknowledgement letters for materials received as gifts or on exchange; mails CMA publications to exchange partners on request; sorts and distributes published materials sent from other Museum departments; maintains list of exchange partners; receives, records and processes art dealerís catalogues; sends correspondence requesting books on exchange and reproductions as needed; maintains proficiency in the use of the library online systemís acquisitions and cataloging modules.
Qualifications/
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of college coursework; excellent typing / data entry skills; excellent organizational skills and detail orientation; two years related experience and/or training; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and familiarity with online library database software helpful; proficiency and ease in using dictionaries for foreign languages.
