| Principal Duties: | The Rocky River Public Library is seeking an innovative and dynamic leader. RRPL is located in Rocky River, Ohio, 10 miles west of Cleveland. The library is a financially secure system that serves a population of 21,000 with a 45,000 square foot main library. RRPL has a 2022 operating budget of $4 million, annual circulation of 850,000 items patron base of 23,000 and 47 FTE''s. |
| Qualifications/ Requirements: |
The Rocky River Board of Trustees is seeking a director with prior library management experience (MLS required and sense of humor required) and excellent people skills. The successful candidate will be sensitive to how the library fits into the unique community of Rocky River and can work successfully with both staff and patrons. The ideal director will value and support staff members, uphold library standards, communicate with people easily, be an effective listener, appreciate the library''s and community''s history and traditions, and have strong leadership skills. The Rocky River Public Library houses the unique Cowan pottery collection, and the director will be instrumental in helping to leverage that asset to the library''s advantage. The board seeks a director who is consistent in policy matters but also creative and flexible in their thinking. |
