| Principal Duties: | A new initiative of the Kelvin Smith Library is to hire a team of college-based librarians who will provide distinctive and dynamic instruction and research to support faculty members and graduate and undergraduate education and research. Working in partnership with SAGES (Seminar Approach to General Education) faculty, College-based librarians will assist faculty integrating literacy skills into the undergraduate learning experience, assist faculty in preparing curricular materials, and teaching. The Kelvin Smith Library seeks dynamic, innovative, and service-oriented candidates for the position of College Librarians. |
| Qualifications/ Requirements: |
Relevant post MLS experience in a reference or public services position with collection management responsibilities in an academic library is required. Minimum three years for Level II librarian. Minumum five years for Level III librarian. Teaching experience or coursework dealing with classroom instructional techniques and theories. Knowledge of general reference resources and services. Minimum two years experience in delivering consultation services and using networked resources is required. Experience in designing and maintaining web pages is required. Minimum two years collection management experience, knowledge of budgetary processes, and experience with automated library systems in an academic library is preferred. ALA-accredited Masters of Library Science degree is required. Strong preference for undergraduate or graduate degree in one or more of disciplines served (engineering, mathematics, statistics). Advanced degree in a related subject area is preferred. |
