| Principal Duties: | The Kate Love Simpson-Morgan County Library Board of Trustees is seeking a director with prior public library management experience (MLS required). The successful candidate will be sensitive to how the library fits into the unique community of Morgan County, located in southeastern Ohio, and be able to work respectfully with both staff and patrons. Developing children and adult programming is a top priority. The KLS - Morgan County Library is seeking community-oriented director. The library serves all of Morgan County 15,000 residents. KLS has a 2022 operating budget of approximately $558,000, annual circulation of more than 140,000 items, patron base of 8,000 and 10 FTEs. The library operates a branch in Chesterhill and a bookmobile that serves its homebound patrons. |
| Qualifications/ Requirements: |
The director is expected to value and support staff members, uphold professional library standards, communicate effectively with people of varied educational, social and cultural backgrounds, and have strong leadership skills. This position also requires knowledge of the application of technology in public library service, as well as an ability to be aware of trends in library service. |
