Title: Library Cataloger
Organization: Western Reserve Historical Society
Location: 10825 East Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44106
Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM
Salary: Open; commensurate with education and experience.
Principal Duties: Full time position with benefits for a library cataloger in a historical society archives/library with extensive collections of books, manuscripts, photographs and newspapers. Will be a member of a team responsible for implementation of an integrated collections management system for the library. Specific responsibilities will include the completion of retrospective conversion of dictionary card catalogs, database cleanup and original processing and cataloging of materials using standard cataloging techniques for inclusion in an Online Public Access Catalog and OCLC.
Qualifications/
Requirements:
Required: At least two years of library experience in a relevant area. Familiarity with AACR2, USMARC Integrated Format, standard cataloging resources and word processing/computer operation. Preferred: Experience in a Technical Services or cataloging department preferred, experience cataloging in USMARC format on OCLC or in an OPAC and managing a retrospective conversion project is highly preferred. Experience with OCLC and associated softwares (particularly Passport for Windows and Cataloging MicroEnhancer), Online Public Access Catalogs (particularly epixtech Horizon), and retrospective conversion projects is desired.
