| Principal Duties: |
Responsible for planning, providing and implementing a comprehensive program of library service to children and adults concerned with children on a local and regional level. Interviews, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates public services professionals and assistants. Responsible for budget and collection development. Work requires familiarity with electronic print and non-print sources. Regularly acts as person-in-charge when Regional Area Administrator is out of the building. Develops and maintains positive rapport with local community, organizations, institutions, and government leaders, as well as local libraries. Acts as point person for a very active partnership with the Parma City Schools. Works with other regional age-level specialists to develop and present in-service training for library staff. |
Qualifications/
Requirements: |
MLS with at least two-to-four years of professional library experience, some of the experience working with children, including one year in a supervisory capacity. Person selected will be expected to show creativity, imagination and effectiveness in providing library service to children and adults concerned with children. Managerial, human relations, leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills necessary. Computer literate with ability to use library software programs including word processing. Applicants with experience working with a culturally diverse population will be preferred. A valid Ohio Driver''s license is required and own vehicle preferred. In order to be considered further, applicants must pass a written test or a random selection depending on the number of applications received. |
