Title: P/T Reference/Outreach Specialist
Organization: Foundation Center - Cleveland
Location: The Foundation Center - Clevleand
Hours: 20 hours per week. Must be available to work 3 full days (M-F) from 9:00am – 5:00pm (including one Monday per month from 12:00pm or 1:00pm – 8:00pm)

Principal Duties: Reference Introduces and assists library users with materials in collection and with foundation research techniques. Participates in performing e-mail reference as part of the Center’s online library at its Web site. Creates bibliographies, library displays, and prepares book reviews as needed. Outreach Presents regularly scheduled basic and advanced classes at the Cleveland library/learning center. Presents Foundation Center programs at various locations in the Cleveland community and beyond. Conducts special group tours of the library and assists in accommodating other group visits to and requests for special presentations at the Foundation Center – Cleveland. Other Assists with providing content for the Cleveland Center’s weekly electronic newsletter and the Cleveland Web page. Assists with gathering feedback and statistics about use of the library/learning center. Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications/
Requirements:
BA/BS degree; working towards or having an MLS or other Masters degree desirable. The position calls for an individual who is an enthusiastic and energetic well-organized self-starter with a high degree of comfort with the Internet and new technologies in libraries. Must have prior public speaking experience; teaching experience a plus. Interest in interacting with various audiences at the Foundation Center and in the community, and knowledge of the nonprofit sector are preferred, as are excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team of professionals. Willingness for occasional, limited travel required. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel or Lotus.
