This joint CAMLS-NOLA workshop will feature C. Allen and Mary Anne Nichols, well known in Ohio and nationally for young adult library services. The two authors and library advocates will share their broad experience with Young Adult Summer Reading programs. Discussion topics will include logistics of running a successful Young Adult Summer Reading program, school visits, graphics and themes, incentives, promotion, displays, programming ideas, and much more.

Presenter
Mary Anne Nichols & C. Allen Nichols co-edited Young Adults and Public Libraries: A Handbook of Materials and Services (Greenwood, 1998). Young Adults and Public Libraries is a comprehensive text that responds to the needs of those serving young adults in public libraries. Together they edit the Greenwood Professional Guides for Young Adult Librarians series.

Ms. Nichols is a former school-age and young adult librarian. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Kent State University's School of Library and Information Science, teaching graduate workshops on young adult services. Mr. Nichols is Director of the Ella M. Everhard Public Library in Wadsworth, Ohio and a nationally known YA advocate.
