The 2022 CAMLS Support Staff Conferences will have a new look, offering multiple sessions so that participants can choose the learning experience that fits them the best. On this day, registrants will be able to choose two morning sessions and two afternoon sessions. Participants may also opt to take part in Talk Tables to discuss issues with peers.

What we say, how we say it, and how it is interpreted can be a source of conflict and misunderstanding between genders, but it can also be a motivational source and means to solutions. Patti Pritts will offer strategies to understand and better communicate across genders.

Safety and Security, John Dunn 9 AM - 11 AM
Problem behaviors are often a challenge in libraries and public buildings. Learn new strategies that will help staff deal with security and safety issues. Former FBI agent John Dunn will teach you how to recognize troublesome situations, how to prepare for them and how not to be a victim.

Goal Setting for Success at Work, Kim Langley 11:15 AM- 12:15 PM
Compose your definition of success, identify your deepest values and develop a personal mission statement. Learn tools for acheiving personal goals and strategies for sustaining commitment to results.

Building Healthy Relationships with Effective Listening, Ilinda Reese 2:45 - 3:45 PM
Knock down the barriers to communication with a guide to effective listening. Learn the 7 tools for successful communication, and productive and nonproductive types of behavior and communication.

Charlie Thomasson
is the District Manager and Personal Financial Advisor for American Express Financial Advisors, Inc. He conducts seminars on finance planning nationwide.
Ilinda M.J. Reese
is founder and president of IMJ Resources and is a motivational speaker drawing from over 15 years of experience.
John T. Dunn, Jr.
is the Security Specialist for Cuyahoga County Public Library. After twenty years with the FBI, Mr. Dunn retired and joined the staff of CCPL in 1999. He has presented on Safety and Securityat OLC and many libraries in northeast Ohio.
Kim Langley
is the president LifeBalance Enterprises, Inc. She has 15 years of experience as a professional trainer, conducting 100-150 workshops per year. She has developed continuing education at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, and Lorain County Community College.
Patricia Pritts
is a training and development consultant working in the Department of Patient Education and Health Information at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has over 16 years of experience in the field of Adult Learning and Development. Ms. Pritts presented at the CAMLS Support Staff Conference in Spring 2001.
