The 2022 CAMLS Support Staff Conferences will have a new look, offering multiple sessions so that participants can choose the learning experiences that will most benefit them. On this day registrants will choose one morning and one afternoon session.


Verbal Judo, Vicki Willard 9 AM - 12 PM
There is a wealth of benefits to effective, assertive self-expression. The average workday is largely devoted to some form of communication. Research demonstrates over 86% of time is spent attempting to say what we really mean. Word choice, presence, appearance, and body language communicate something each time you interact with others. Your professional credibility lies in how you communicate important details and the overall picture of your ideas. This affects performance, yours and that of the people around you. Learn effective communication tactics, and you will create solutions and avoid problems.

Motivation, Dr. Scott Sheperd 9 AM - 12 PM
Designed to help people stay motivated and enthusiastic even during difficult times, this session will explore what people must do in their thinking process to avoid negative traps and what they can do if others around them seem to trying to pull their motivation down. Dr. Sheperd offers specific strategies for keeping enthusiasm and motivation escalating.

Whatís Eating You?, Patricia Pritts1:30 - 4 PM
WE ARE SORRY TO POST THAT THIS SESSION IS FULL. PLEASE DO NOT SELECT IT WHEN YOU REGISTER, Take a provocative look into the psychology of food and dieting. What we eat does affect how we feel. This program is all about the emotions some of us have attached to the food we eat. Patti Pritts will explain why dieting itself is an imperfect way to lose weight and maintain the loss. This program will help you understand what makes us break our best intentions, and the ways dieting can effect us emotionally. Discover how to begin breaking life long patterns of "that talk in our heads". Please bring your most memorable dieting experience for possible sharing.

Customer Service: People vs. Paper, Ilinda Reese 1:30 - 4 PM
Understand and meet your patrons needs and expectations, and you can produce consistent customer service excellence at every level. Learn to assess the patronís changing needs and increase their loyalty and satisfaction. Ilinda Reese offers practical applications to real life situations and will increase your awareness of the influence of perception, feelings, and behavior in order to acheive the 21st century definition of customer service excellence.

Presenter
Dr. Scott Shepard
is President of Scott Sheperd & Associates in Sylvania, Ohio. He is a keynote speaker and author who uses humorous but thought provoking approaches to issues such as stress and motivation. He has authored several books and appeared on PBS.
Ilinda M.J. Reese
is founder and president of IMJ Resources and is a motivational speaker drawing from over 15 years of experience.
Patricia Pritts
is a training and development consultant working in the Department of Patient Education and Health Information at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has over 16 years of experience in the field of Adult Learning and Development. Ms. Pritts presented at the CAMLS Support Staff Conference in Spring 2001.
Vicki Willard is a faculty member of at the University of West Georgia and was formerly a Delta Airlines customer service trainer, who implemented and promoted innovative programs to help Delta Airlines obtain some of the highest customer service ratings in the airline industry.
