Title: Public Services Librarian - Teen (Young Adult)
Organization: Cuyahoga County Public Library
Location: Bay Village Branch
Hours: 40 hours per week including evening and weekends.
Salary: $14.56 per hour
Principal Duties: Under general supervision, provides professional library services such as reference and reader guidance, participates in collection development, prepares and presents programs suited to the needs and interests of the local population; specializes in service to young adults. Must have communication skills to deal effectively with local schools and community organizations. Must be able to prepare and present book talks and programs to young adults.
Qualifications/
Requirements:
Masters Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school and some library experience preferred. Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required. Applicants with experience working with a culturally diverse population will be preferred. Applicants with 6 months or more experience working with teenagers in a group setting will be preferred. Applicants may be requested to pass a written test in order to be considered further. Three (3) current work related reference letters must be returned with the application. Proof of education required.
