Wayne County Public Library Board of Trustees has named Greg Lubelski as the library's new leader.
At their regularly scheduled May board meeting, trustees unanimously elected to offer Lubelski the opportunity to direct the library's countywide system, which includes the main library in Wooster; the branch libraries in Creston, Dalton, Doylestown, Rittman and Shreve; and two bookmobiles.
Currently the executive director of the Erie County Public Library in Erie, PA, Lubelski has more than 20 years of experience in managing libraries and departments within libraries. He holds master's degrees in both library science and public administration.
In addition to his years of library experience, Lubelski has knowledge of Ohio's Public Libraries; he served as assistant director of the Geauga County Public Library from 1991-98.
With a new branch library under construction in Erie County, Lubelski has experience with library building projects, particularly desirable as the Wayne County Public Library approaches the expansion of its Shreve Branch and the construction of a new main library.
Lubelski is expected to assume his new role near the first of July.
