Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library Breaks Ground for Fourth Library
The Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library and the city of Willoughby Hills have joined forces to provide library service and a community gathering place. After years of planning, the project is underway. The 4,000+ square foot library will be housed in the Willoughby Hills Community Center. The library will feature a popular collection of materials and make use of wireless technologies. The ground breaking for the Willoughby Hills Community Center and Library was held Thursday, September 12. Library staff and trustees attended the event along with local leaders and residents. All in attendance were enthusiastic about the project and the partnership forged by the library and the city. The morning's activities ended with a delicious lunch provided by the city. Mayor O'Ryan anticipates that the center will be completed in 240 days or mid-May 2022. It is an ambitious deadline that will depend on the weather and other variables. Holly Carroll, Director of the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library, estimates that the library will be open for business sometime in the fall of 2022.
