Title: Library Asst Level II-Cataloging/Acquisitions Asst

Location: Kelvin Smith Library
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Salary: $20,500 yearly, comprehensive benefits package including tuition waiver
Principal Duties: The Library Assistant in this position is also responsible for order receiving and copy cataloging activities related to the Library''s approval plan. This employee performs combined acquisitions and cataloging routines on a daily basis, Acquisitions activities include receiving approval books and firm order book sorting, processing, invoice preparation and database order updating. Copy cataloging activities include searching EuclidPLUS for cataloging copy, verifying accuracy of the bibliographic MARC record, editing if necessary, and/or item record creation.
1 year of experience required, preferably in a cataloging or acquisitions. Experience with an online integrated library system is preferred. Ability to maintain high level of daily performance and to exercise judgment in scheduling of work and setting priorities. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with minimum amount of supervision. Demonstrated organizational and clerical skills. High school education, college education preferred.
